Fresh capital for Onapsis

Onapsis, a global expert in business-critical application security, has closed a second venture capital investment round.

This will provide the company with an additional $17 million. Leading partners are the investors from Evolution Equity Partners. Also participating again are .406 Ventures and, as a new backer, Arsenal Venture Partners.

Since the company's founding, this brings Onapsis' total equity capital raised to $30 million. The new investment round fits an increasingly complex security environment with a new generation of well-disguised attacks that increasingly target industrial espionage.

The cost of such security breaches is estimated at around $445 billion worldwide. A first publicly known vulnerability to attack SAP-supported enterprise applications affected the largest commercial provider of background investigations for the U.S. federal government, the U.S. Investigations Services (USIS).

Onapsis plans to use the new capital to further expand its research and development.
