Digitize Public Services
The digitization of public administration and services of general interest is one of the most important tasks of our time. It opens up enormous potential: public authorities and companies operating in the public sector can save resources and make processes more efficient.
At the same time, citizens benefit from simplified and more transparent administrative processes. Under the motto "Digitize Public Services", the Smart Country Convention from November 20 to 22, 2018 in the CityCube Berlin will show how these potentials can be exploited.
The topics range from digital administration, citizen services, data management, IT security and infrastructure to the digitization of public services in the areas of energy, mobility, security, waste, water, education, health and housing.
The Smart Country Convention aims to bring together representatives from the public sector, the digital economy, politics and science: In the Expo, providers will present new digital solutions, and on the stages, presentations will provide insights into trends, strategies and best practices.
Interactive workshops and certified seminars invite to individual further education. In the networking areas, participants make new and unexpected contacts.
Public Sector Pitch
On three public stages, experts will present the latest trends and best practices for digitizing public administration and services of general interest. A Public Sector Pitch, a Hackathon and partner conferences complete the program. Christian Göke, Managing Director of Messe Berlin:
"In Germany alone, the digitization of the public sector constitutes a market worth more than 50 billion euros. For this market, we will for the first time establish an independent platform that meets the specific requirements of the market participants."
Partner country Denmark
Digital citizens' offices, electronic doctor's letters, tax returns at the touch of a button and gigabit networks: Denmark is a pioneer in many areas of digitization, ranking first among all EU countries according to the EU Digital Index.
At the Smart Country Convention, the official partner country will present digital applications for administrations, public enterprises and the digitization of cities, municipalities and counties. Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen will open the event.
