Connection of the worlds

GIB will be presenting its new software component SFI - Shop Floor Integration at the DSAG Annual Congress, which already attracted a lot of attention at the ifm stand at Hannover Messe 2017.
With the help of the integration tools offered by SAP, GIB developed a solution that processes the sensor information in the ERP system. This means that the store floor information is no longer only used for machine-related visualization, but also enables bilateral exchange between sensor technology and SAP ERP.
With minimal integration effort, the SFI offers the possibility for triggering and controlling follow-up activities and processes. The special appeal of this solution results from the fact that resources can be used in an optimized way.
In addition, quality and feedback data provide valuable sources for supply chain optimization. This includes looking at machine occupancy, better capacity planning, linking maintenance and production orders, batch size optimization, etc.
GIB is represented at this year's Digital Leads Summit via Nadine Rahman, Chair of TiSC's Board of Directors - in round one "Roles in the Internet of Things - Who plays what role in the IoT ecosystem? In the Enterprise?". TiSC is an alliance of SAP software partner GIB and cloud services and IT infrastructure provider Qosit.
