Nine million too much
Inflexible pricing, management tools that don't give users the control they need, and data being stored outside of where it's needed increase the cost companies pay annually for their cloud usage by around 35 percent. This is the result of a study by Couchbase, according to which companies spend an average of more than 33 million US dollars per year on cloud services. They could save around 8.75 million dollars of this if cloud providers could solve the challenges faced by users or at least meet their expectations.
More than a third (36%) of companies stated that the cloud services introduced in the past three years have not met expectations. Around 56 percent said that previous cloud decisions had made their digital transformation more difficult, while 48 percent complained of higher costs.
