The EMEA-ISG Index of the analyst and consulting firm Information Services Group (ISG) shows how the IT services market is developing worldwide and in Europe on a quarterly basis. The analysis focuses on newly concluded contracts with an annual contract value (ACV) of at least 4.6 million euros (5 million US dollars). Here are the key facts and trends for the first quarter of 2022: In the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), the recovery of the IT services market that began last year continued. Although the annual contract value of new contracts was down on the exceptionally strong first quarter of the previous year, it rose significantly in the first quarter compared to the fourth quarter of 2021, namely by 33% to USD 823 million (EUR 766 million).
According to the EMEA ISG Index, the total market in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), which includes both cloud-based services and managed services, exceeded the quarterly value of USD 7 billion (EUR 6.5 billion) for the first time. Compared to the first quarter of 2021, it totaled USD 7.5 billion (EUR 7 billion) with an increase of 21%. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2021, this corresponds to an increase of 8%.
