Digitization in the Healthcare
The chronic staff shortage is currently making itself painfully felt in German hospitals. Digitalized processes and services could provide relief. This is reported in the new ISG Provider Lens Healthcare Digital Services Report Germany by the Information Services Group (ISG). According to the report, digitalized processes can help to increase the efficiency of healthcare providers, reduce costs, improve patient service and care and advance telemedicine. Digital solutions also have the potential to improve medical care in rural areas. At the same time, the study points out that the legislator is emphatically promoting the digitalization of the German healthcare market. For example, electronic patient records have been mandatory in Germany since January 1, 2021. The Hospital Future Act also promotes the digitalization of hospitals in this country.
