Gisa supports Stadtwerke Gießen

Gisa is supporting Stadtwerke Gießen in implementing the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) with the help of SAP ILM. The aim is to identify where personal data is contained in the utility's SAP IS-U system and what steps are necessary to delete it in a legally compliant manner. Using the "Database Analyzer Plus" from PBS Software, Gisa first illustrated to Stadtwerke Gießen which tables contain personal data, which tables are assigned to archiving objects and which archiving objects are required to ultimately delete the master data.

In addition to blocking and deleting relevant data, the project also provided for access to archived data using PBS indices. SAP ILM was then implemented in a sandbox system. In the future, Gisa will also train the employees of the municipal utility company in the operation of the system.
