Attack paths for connected cars
Trend Micro has published a new study on cybersecurity in connected vehicles. This helps manufacturers, suppliers, authorities and service providers to implement the new UN regulation on the cyber security of connected vehicles. It also analyzes cyber risks that are not yet considered in the current regulations. According to the study, securing the following attack vectors should be a high priority: Back-end servers that can be used to attack vehicles or extract data; denial-of-service (DoS) attacks to disrupt vehicle functions such as brakes through various communication channels; hosted third-party software (for example, entertainment apps) that can be used to attack vehicle systems.
