Over a long period of time, the mechanical engineering specialist Trumpf from Ditzingen developed IT structures that the in-house IT department could only manage through a great deal of effort. Among other things, heterogeneous subsystems and decentralized IT solutions at various locations made work more difficult and resulted in avoidable IT costs—for example in the form of multiple licenses and rising maintenance costs.

What really counts at work? A new study of 500 professionals from Germany sheds light on what motivates employees today—and why some trends are developing differently than expected.
Everything must become more efficient, including processes. SAP knows this too—and thus offers stable, tried-and-tested processes for complex subject areas that benefit companies. They are the best at it.
At packaging manufacturer Karl Knauer, the standard SAP system lacked adequate mapping of the order backlog - a central KPI for production and sales planning. Thanks to an enhancement, this can now be evaluated in real time and used for well-founded decisions.
