E-3 Cover story March 2020

Digitization is a business, organizational, technical and also licensing challenge. The tasks go far beyond an ERP release change. Even if SAP is the crystallization point, the user needs comprehensive and sustainable support that must do more than a new ERP. E-3 Editor-in-Chief Peter M. Färbinger spoke with Hagen Rickmann, Managing Director of Business Customers at Telekom Deutschland.
Deutsche Telekom has long since ceased to be synonymous with telecommunications and network connectivity; its IT services are designed to make digitization as easy as possible for companies.
Artificial intelligence, big data, or the switch to SAP S/4 Hana: SAP's midmarket customers are gradually setting the technological and process-related course for the future. Flexible infrastructures support them in this.
Only seven years until 2027 - then the ultimate upgrade to S/4 will be necessary, with extended maintenance the SAP existing customer has a deadline until 2030. Question: Do I use the time span wisely and go with the core system to the public cloud?
Telekom maintains an extensive partner network from which business customers of all sizes benefit. Certified partnerships have existed with SAP and Microsoft for more than two decades.

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
