E-3 Cover story September 2018

One pragmatic approach to meeting the challenges of digital transformation now is to optimize e-mail and paper-based document processes.
A system for processing incoming documents that is embedded in SAP offers particular efficiency. All the advantages of an SAP landscape are available.
"Digital transformation" has been around for about five years. The first attempts were technology-heavy. In the meantime, pragmatism has set in. We talked about the values of digitalization with Tangro founder and CEO Andreas Schumann and Tangro development managers Andreas Krings-Stern (l.) and Alexander Oberle (r.).
Smart digitization projects place a further focus on order processing in addition to invoice receipt processing, because speedy processing must be guaranteed in this area and customer satisfaction is the focus here.
Companies achieve even more synergy effects if they combine automation in the purchase-to-pay process with a solution for electronic processing of service entry.
Even though everyone is talking about digitization at the moment, the idea is by no means new. The exchange of structured electronic business data via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) has already been taking place for decades.
For years, SAP's licensing policy has repeatedly caused annoyance among customers and partners. Particularly when it comes to indirect use, the views of SAP and its customers and business partners often diverge by miles.

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
