E-3 Cover Story December 2017/January 2018

SAP has set a very ambitious - almost radical - path with S/4 and Hana: Only one database offering for future ERP solutions including intensive use of open source products. SAP partner MSG Treorbis has taken up this challenge and developed the S/4 industry solution Discrete Manufacturing. Peter Färbinger, E-3 Magazine, spoke with MSG Treorbis Managing Director Michael Neuhaus about opportunities, requirements and trends.
Whether master data management, availability checks, purchasing or variant configuration: medium-sized companies from the discrete industry often come up against limits with process requirements such as these. With an industry package, MSG Treorbis redefines these limits and merges the advantages of S/4 Hana with the benefits of industry-typical SAP best practices and its own add-ons.
For the configuration of complex products in 3-D, the UI5 quotation configurator from MSG Treorbis offers clear "Guided Selling" without technical hurdles. The SAPUI5 interface allows online access to the configuration knowledge in the SAP back-end - LO-VC, SAP CPQ - on the desktop PC or mobile.
With a detailed analysis of the SAP landscape, cost drivers and risks can be uncovered and applications optimized. MSG FIT is used in MSG's S/4 Conversion Methodology to obtain an objective picture of the benefits of an S/4 migration.

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
