E-3 Cover story October 2015

SAP is increasingly pushing into the cloud with S/4 Hana Cloud. But many existing SAP customers are still hesitant, not sure why, when and how they should follow.
The productivity promise of digital processes is only realized when the level of automation reaches its maximum. With OpenText Business Center for SAP Solutions, document-centric processes such as processing incoming orders can be optimally automated.
With S/4 Hana, SAP has finally completed the generation change in its core product. Hana not only replaces relational databases, but also takes over application functions. The information manager and SAP partner OpenText has actively accompanied this path from the very beginning.
Flexibility, scalability, usage-based billing, security - this is what companies expect from their archive to save costs and meet regulatory requirements. End users often use the cloud for this.
In the past, shoe retailer Hamm Reno stored all real estate documents in archive rooms. The switch to digital files brings security, saves time and ensures harmonious interaction with existing IT solutions including SAP Real Estate.
Transactions with 8,000 suppliers are handled by s.Oliver via a global supply chain. In redesigning its invoice receiving process, the fashion company replaced local solutions with a new system with tight SAP integration and shortened the scanning process by 70 percent.
The digital transformation process has to be non-disruptive for almost all existing SAP customers - regardless of technology, use and business cases. "Hybrid" is thus a key term to evaluate a roadmap. E-3 Editor-in-Chief Peter Färbinger spoke with Roger Illing, OpenText Vice President Enterprise Sales EMEA, about the transformation of Enterprise Information Management.

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
