Artificial intelligence: Digital 2030 trend study

The successful integration of artificial intelligence into business applications is not only high on the priority list of most C-level decisions for the next five years. In the meantime, AI is already generating measurable added business value in 70 percent of DACH companies. This is the result of the current trend study "Digital 2030 - The Rise of Applied AI", which was conducted by the digital consulting, solutions and software company Valantic.
Around 700 decision-makers from companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland provided information on the importance they attach to current trend technologies for their own company's success over the next five years. The result: even after the massive hype surrounding generative artificial intelligence, which reached a peak last year, four out of five respondents consider AI (79%) to be important for their own company's success by 2030. This makes artificial intelligence one of the three most relevant digitalization trends of the next five years, alongside cybersecurity technologies (81%) and cloud computing (80%). Earlier technology megahypes such as the metaverse or blockchain are at the bottom of the trend ranking.
Laurenz Kirchner, Managing Director and Data & AI Practice Lead at Valantic, says: "The study results provide insights into the many opportunities for companies to generate significant business benefits with applied AI. There are now examples of profitable use cases in almost all business areas. In order for AI to be used successfully in a business context, it is important that decision-makers focus on the key success factors during the AI transformation. Our study provides valuable impetus for this."
