And the GIB SCM Award goes to...
This year, SCM solution provider GIB once again invited its customers to compete for the award for the best optimization of inventories and delivery readiness. Two companies stood out in particular: agricultural machinery manufacturer Krone and scales manufacturer Bizerba SE & Co. KG.
Maschinenfabrik Bernard Krone GmbH & Co. KG impressed the jury with its forecast inventory reduction of 2.2 million euros by the inventory date of July 31, 2021. Together with the Munich-based management consultancy and long-standing GIB partner Emporias, Lukas Zumstrull, Process Management at Krone, and Felix Paus, Plant Controlling at Krone, drew up a project plan that had it all: by implementing a new material class concept for materials planning, Krone succeeded in realizing a large number of optimizations, for example operational calming in day-to-day business, increased material availability, production-synchronous supply control of A-parts and an expansion of automation in the area of order processing and master data maintenance. Here, too, the company relied on the transparency and informative value of GIB Controlling.
"The Bizerba and Krone projects are beacons and hopefully an incentive for many other supply chain managers to review and optimize their systems and processes"Björn Dunkel, Managing Director of GIB, explains the jury's decision. "With our GIB SCM Award, we would like to take up the cudgels for those who take on the challenge of making their company's supply chain processes competitive."
The GIB software is the enabler here. "We make complex supply chain processes manageable," Dunkel quotes the GIB vision and he adds: "We see ourselves as the springboard for the supply chain heroes of the 21st century."
