Alexander Rosell Heads the CoE for Data and AI
Alexander Rosell will be responsible for the Center of Excellence for Data and AI at Zurich Group Germany from September 1, 2024. The data management expert succeeds Michael Zimmer, who left Zurich Group Germany in June at his own request to take on new challenges. As Head of the Center of Excellence for Data and AI, Alexander Rosell will report to Horst Nussbaumer, Chief Operation Officer on the Management Board of Zurich Group Germany, and will be a member of the German Leadership Team.
Alexander Rosell is moving from the consulting firm EY to the Zurich Germany Group. He has been working as an IT consultant and data management expert for insurance companies and banks since 2006. He has extensive and long-standing knowledge of managing and analyzing data from the insurance industry. He started his career as a computer scientist at IBM.
As a database and business intelligence expert, he worked for numerous insurance companies in Germany and the UK. He joined NTT Data as a Data Architect, where he led the data engineering team for the insurance market and worked on data-driven insurance. He continued this at EY, where he helped build the data and AI consulting team in Germany to advise insurance companies and banks on current data issues around data governance, the European Union's AI Act and the use of AI and GenAI.
