Additional 40 AI professorships
Artificial intelligence is a key technology that will have a significant impact on the competitiveness of the entire economy, the public sector and everyday life.
From Bitkom's point of view, the goal should be not only to keep Germany internationally competitive in AI research, but also to promote the transfer of research results into marketable products.
Among other things, at least four billion euros in state funding should be made available for research and 40 additional professorships should be created at universities to meet future demand for specialists.
Together with the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), Bitkom has published "Decision Support with Artificial Intelligence - Economic Significance, Social Challenge, Human Responsibility".
On more than 200 pages, it is shown in which business areas AI applications are already being used today and what role humans still play even in automated decision-making.
