DSAG Technology Days 2020 - The right twist for digitization

It all comes down to the right strategy and the right tools - in day-to-day business and in digitalization.
"Our companies are under enormous pressure from competition and change. But digitalization has many sides. Like a Rubik's cube, it's all about turning the right tile at the right time"
explains DSAG technology board member Steffen Pietsch the motto of the Technology Days.
From DSAG's point of view, there are several stones that SAP should definitely position correctly so that companies can successfully master their digitization task. In addition to seamless technical and semantic integration, this also includes SAP making improvements to the duality of cloud and on-premises, creating investment security and providing realistic migration strategies.
The SAP portfolio has grown in recent years through numerous acquisitions, such as Hybris, Gigya, CallidusCloud and Qualtrics. The acquisitions and in-house developments have resulted in a heterogeneous portfolio of very different technologies and concepts.
Due to the further development of the SAP portfolio and acquisitions, products overlap functionally on the one hand.
"On the other hand, we are finding that some cloud products in particular are not yet as mature as the on-premises solutions used to date"
Steffen Pietsch describes the situation.
DSAG is calling for reliable roadmaps that offer clarity and investment security for user companies and partners. Companies generally rely on various applications and systems for digitalization and transformation projects.
In order to implement a successful digitalization strategy, the components used must be integrable. The interest group therefore expects SAP software to support an API-first strategy that enables SAP and non-SAP solutions, including in-house developments, to access relevant data and functions.
"Furthermore, we believe it is imperative that SAP solutions can be easily integrated with each other not only technically, but also semantically on the basis of compatible data models."
This must be a central feature of SAP products and a competitive advantage. However, digitization in its customers' companies is not just a Rubik's Cube with many sides for SAP.
DSAG will also provide the right impetus to actively support its member companies in their digital transformation. At the DSAG Technology Days, the interest group will not only provide practical approaches and sustainable strategies, but also actively promote dialog between users and SAP.
