Study Cyber Security in Austria

One in ten companies even reported more than five disruptions to their IT systems. The most frequent problems were caused by malware from the Internet and due to technical faults such as network failures.
These are the key findings of the "IT Security at Austrian Companies" study. The opinion research institute Sora was commissioned by A1 Telekom Austria to survey 500 IT managers at Austrian companies.
After all, 30 percent of companies have already had to deal with the loss of important data. More than one in ten companies has been the victim of a hacking attack in the past.
The number of cybercrime cases is increasing, but many of them are often noticed too late or not at all. In the meantime, one third of companies believe that they have "definitely" already been the victim of cyberattacks, and another third are "fairly certain".
"One of the main problems is the deceptive security in which many companies believe themselves to be. Sixty-six percent of small businesses feel secure, but only 12 percent of IT services professionals surveyed share that sentiment"
says Sora Managing Director Christoph Hofinger.
