Innovations at the SAP Connect Event in Las Vegas

At the first SAP Connect event, SAP presented its latest innnovations. Among the innovations are a new network of role-based AI assistants that increase user productivity, a growing data ecosystem for deeper insights into businesses, and software that anticipates disruptions in supply chains.
“To succeed in a volatile market environment, companies need more than a patchwork of different best-of-breed applications,” said Muhammad Alam, member of the Executive Board of SAP, SAP Product and Engineering. “Our announcements today illustrate how SAP Business Suite, with its combination of AI, data, and applications, enables smarter decisions, faster implementation, and scalable transformation.”

AI assistants in Joule
SAP continues to strengthen the Joule AI assistant as a driving force for the added value of SAP Business Suite. Based on the applications and data of the entire SAP Business Suite, SAP is introducing a new generation of role-based AI assistants in Joule that understand the business context.
Each AI assistant is designed to support users in their specific role within the company. These assistants use the agents appropriate for the task at hand and configure, combine, and control them so that users can focus on gaining valuable insights and increasing their productivity.
Joule assistants are supported by a growing library of specialized Joule agents to perform complex workflows within a specific function. For example, a People Manager Assistant coordinates a team of specialized agents—including the new People Intelligence Agent, which can identify and resolve issues such as compensation anomalies—to help managers improve performance. A new Financial Planning Assistant is supported by a group of expert agents—such as the new Cash Management Agent, which optimizes cash flow and improves interest income—to help finance professionals increase efficiency.
Data
To benefit from AI, you need data, but this data is often isolated in different systems. SAP's solution to this conundrum is SAP Business Data Cloud Connect. The solution links SAP Business Data Cloud with partner platforms for a two-way flow of ready-to-use data products across business and technical boundaries.
Data is provided without redundant copies and remains secure in SAP systems. Customers can access it directly in their existing data platforms and the business context is preserved. This can result in fewer data silos, simpler data flows, and no costly data duplication.
SAP also announced that Databricks and Google Cloud are the first partners for SAP Business Data Cloud Connect. Others will follow. As announced in February 2025, SAP Databricks remains a data service within the SAP Business Data Cloud. BDC Connect extends its benefits across an open data ecosystem.
SAP Supply Chain Orchestration
SAP Supply Chain Orchestration is a new native AI solution that combines the strengths of Joule with a knowledge graph to identify risks at upstream suppliers in multi-tier supply chains in real time and respond with coordinated actions.
The new SAP Engagement Cloud solution uses business-critical context to personalize interactions with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the SAP Ariba Procurement portfolio stands out as one of the few native AI solutions that enables customers to benefit from intelligent capabilities at every stage of spend management, from sourcing to supplier dialogue.
