SAP automation functions: Digital Adoption Platforms
At Sapphire 2024 Orlando, SAP and WalkMe announced that the companies have entered into a definitive agreement under which SAP will acquire the Israeli company WalkMe, a provider of Digital Adoption Platforms (DAP). SAP and WalkMe's Board of Directors have approved the transaction for $14 per share, representing an equity value of approximately $1.5 billion. The transaction is to be made in cash. The offer price corresponds to a premium of 45 percent on the closing price of WalkMe shares on June 4, 2024. The planned combination is intended to complement the portfolio in the area of business transformation management around the Signavio and LeanIX solutions.

"With the acquisition of WalkMe, we are significantly strengthening support for our end users and helping them to quickly adopt new solutions and features so that our customers can maximize the value of their IT investments."
WalkMe can help existing SAP customers increase productivity and reduce risk by enabling consistent, effective and efficient use of software and associated workflows. WalkMe's Digital Adoption Platform builds on an organization's application landscape, is designed to identify where friction is occurring, and provides the tailored support and automation the business needs to get the work at hand done directly in the workflows and across all applications involved. WalkMe will continue to fully support non-SAP applications.
