Full SAP BTP power instead of old paths

Take SAP S/4 Hana, for example: When talking to customers, I often hear that although the current product generation is on the radar, the benefits are being questioned at the moment. On the one hand, they have finally implemented the necessary processes satisfactorily and do not want to change anything. On the other hand, companies, especially owner-managed ones, want to know the added value of an S/4 changeover in detail. The time planning for the changeover is therefore often long-term and, like the choice of operating model, depends on specific considerations. The first of our customers are introducing S/4 Cloud Private Edition, while some are opting for S/4 Cloud Public Edition.

Faster implementation with BTP

Regardless of which phase you are currently in as a customer, please heed two paradigms: "Keep the Digital Core Clean" and "Never Without BTP". On the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), a wide range of services can be combined to create the required SaaS or application. It is also advisable to implement extensions using Steampunk (RAP) and CAP on the BTP.

Even ECC 6.0 customers can use its advantages today with a side-by-side scenario for new additional developments. We have calculated various scenarios in projects and can say with a clear conscience that the implementation for specific scenarios is faster and can result in lower license costs compared to classic ECC Abap stack implementations. 

In some cases, these entry options, such as via cal.sap.com or SAP trials, are simply not known. As a result, SAP customers remain in their old habits and spend money unnecessarily on "old-style" development.

Digitization through BTP

Another way to access SAP BTP could be to use individual components. Let's say you have a Fiori Z application and want to use it to digitally sign PDF documents. We can provide you with the technically demanding part of the legally compliant remote signature as an "Enterprise Signature for SAP Fiori" via the BTP (or on-prem if you use CAP). The architecture is very simple and consists of an SAP Fiori custom control and the complex cryptography plus remote signature connection as a BTP component. One small step for you, one giant leap into the SAP future.

Advanced BTP license model

The issue of licensing can be solved in a step-by-step process: If you do not have a BTP license, the first sensible step is a free SAP trial. If you are convinced, upgrade to a pay-as-you-go or CPEA license for this application (ByoL - Bring your own Licenses). If you already have an SAP BTP license, then you most likely already have all the BTP services required by the 3rd party component in-house. Otherwise, you also have the option of purchasing individual services. And finally, there is also the alternative option of us acting as a provider and operating your signature solution as a genuine SaaS component. You can also use all these options in existing ECC 6.0 environments. 

To cut a long story short: now is the right time to leave the beaten track and take full advantage of the possibilities and power of BTP. Don't wait for the next big release change, but use the existing, innovative technology now to optimize your business processes and reduce your costs!
