Jens Hungershausen, DSAG board chairman, comments: "According to a recent study by the European Center for Digital Competitiveness (ECDC), Germany ranks second to last in Europe when it comes to digital competitiveness. Deficits are particularly evident in the public sector and the education sector, despite the digitalization boost from the corona pandemic. There is a lack of speed, responsibility and concrete implementation. Even without a digital ministry at the federal level, it is imperative that the upcoming federal government address this situation. We would like to see digitization driven forward by policymakers efficiently and in collaboration with experts from industry, society and research. This is the only way we can keep up with digital competition in the long term and globally.“
