Worldwide access to CAD documents
Because its previous ECM system was too complex and too expensive in terms of licensing, the machine tool manufacturer Trumpf has now switched to KGS ContentServer4Storage - a lean archive that is integrated into SAP and only takes on the most basic task of processing documents via the SAP systems.
A special feature of the project is the archiving of the globally distributed CAD documents from Solidworks, for which KGS designed a new cache server concept. At Trumpf, the solution focuses on data archiving and document storage in conjunction with SAP.
Volker Blum, Head of Basic Support for SAP Systems at Trumpf:
"We have realized that SAP users do not need full ECM.
It makes much more sense to work in a more ERP-centric way and to use special tools for individual tasks. When it comes to archiving, the KGS concept is best suited to this approach."
