SAP CEO Christian Klein wants to focus on ERP, the core strength of the ERP world market leader. This focus is honorable, but of little help to SAP's customers. The B2B world is more than just ERP.
For a long time, SAP user companies were reluctant to migrate to SAP S/4 Hana. Now there is movement on the issue.
The end of ECC 6.0 and R/3 is clearly on the horizon. However, the exact date seems to be a challenge for SAP. What is clear, however, is that support for the previous SAP core systems will be discontinued in a few years.
The SAP community remains skeptical: Even the first survey of the SAP community in 2021 indicated that the big "move" from SAP ECC 6.0 to S/4 Hana in the cloud via the "Rise with SAP" initiative would not be so easily communicated.
System copies are a regular task in the SAP data center and there are numerous tools for this. But here the question arises: Can a complete SAP system be copied and then reused on a new domain for new tasks?

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
