T-Systems and Suse: Push for Hana Linux deployment
This is the conclusion reached at T-Systems, one of the largest SAP hosting providers and hyperscalers in the world and a successful player in the multicloud scene with more than 4,000 specialists in this IT work area, which supports around seven million SAP users.
This is based on the provision of Hana databases with a total database volume of around 800 TB. The largest of these, which runs on behalf of the customer, is around 36 TB.
In addition, there is operational provisioning or operational responsibility for Hana-based SAP application systems such as S/4.
Special team
Suse Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications (SLES for SAP) is used as the operating system. The partnership between Suse and T-Systems goes far beyond simply providing the market-leading Hana Linux operating system.

Various Suse technologies and options from SLES for SAP are used, including High Availability Extension, Hana HA Resource Agents, Workload Memory Protection and Live Patching, saptune/sapconf and more. All of these are designed to sustainably optimize the use of Hana.
