Generations Y and Z - money and reliability count
There are clear differences between the generations in terms of expectations of the world of work, especially among students of mathematics, science or technical subjects.
As the current Deloitte STEM Talent Monitor shows, they attach particular importance to stability and security in their professional lives, in addition to salary. Flexibility plays a major role, but only in terms of working hours, not in terms of the physical workplace.
Medium-sized companies are particularly sought-after employers. However, more than one in two graduates also consider starting their careers abroad if the salary and attractiveness of the location are right.
By industry, STEM talent is primarily interested in the IT industry and automotive manufacturing.
"Digitalization, which cuts across all industries and sectors, demands young talent. Those who want to keep high potentials in the country should look closely and early on at what they want."
