SAP and Microsoft cooperate on generative AI
SAP has announced the next step in its long-standing partnership with Microsoft. In doing so, the two companies will use generative AI to help customers better address their biggest challenges. The software vendors will work together to enable the integration of SAP SuccessFactors solutions with Microsoft 365 Copilot in Viva Learning as well as Azure OpenAI Service through powerful language models that analyze and generate natural language. The integrations open up new opportunities for companies to improve how they find, retain, and develop the skills of employees. Companies around the world today face growing challenges as they seek to close the gap between the current skills of their workforce and the skills they need for the future. Bridging this gap means optimizing the way they attract and hire new staff in today's competitive labor market and how they deliver learning and development programs to help employees grow professionally. Another problem is closing the gap between individual employees' career goals and the company's skill development offerings. With the announcement, Microsoft and SAP will work closely to help SAP customers benefit from the potential of generative AI to ensure they attract the most qualified candidates for key roles. Once hired, generative AI helps ensure employee motivation and satisfaction over the long term with personalized analytics.
We have a unique opportunity to use next-generation AI to enable every individual, every company, and every industry - including HR - to improve productivity.

Ceyoniq receives CMIS certification
The enterprise information management (EIM) software Nscale has received CMIS certification from the SAP Integration Certification Center (SAP ICC). This means that the Walldorf-based software company guarantees the full connection of the EIM solution from Ceyoniq to the cloud-based ERP system S/4 Hana Cloud, Public Edition. The certification is valid until 2026. Lower investment costs, a wide range of customization options, the integration of applications with artificial intelligence, mobile access: the migration of their ERP processes to the cloud offers companies numerous advantages. However, this means that the corresponding EIM software must also function smoothly in this environment. To ensure the connection, open, manufacturer-independent standards exist for the corresponding interfaces. These include CMIS (Content Management Inter-operability Services). This interface standard was developed by the independent Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS) and designed specifically for use in public cloud environments. It also replaces the previous SAP ArchiveLink standard, which was designed for ERP use in private cloud operations. With the CMIS certification by the SAP Integration Certification Center (SAP ICC), the software manufacturer confirms the full functionality of Nscale within the ERP ecosystem SAP S/4 Hana, and that also for use in the public cloud.
This means that companies that rely on a combination of Nscale and SAP to digitize their processes are future-proof and investment-proof.

SAP Emarsys introduces Mobile Wallet
As part of the Power to the Marketer Festival 2023, SAP Emarsys announced a new channel, Mobile Wallet, to expand its range of omnichannel capabilities and empower brands to engage with customers anywhere. The new offering allows marketers to use Google and Apple Wallets, already used by millions of people worldwide, to send per-sonalized vouchers, coupons or reward cards to customers - with or without the brand's app. With Mobile Wallet, Emarsys aims to help marketers stay ahead of consumer expectations. With the rapidly increasing cost of living, it is critical for brands to stay competitive. Recent research from SAP Emarsys demonstrates the importance of gaining true customer loyalty in the process: According to the findings, three out of five customers remain loyal to a brand when they are offered regular incentives, discounts and rewards. However, according to the study, when customers leave a brand due to cost considerations, they return to the brand.
80 percent will return to that brand as soon as they can afford it - if retailers continue to communicate in the right way. And with 76 percent of global consumers expecting personalized marketing communications from brands, that means getting to know those customers.

Esker receives US patent for machine learning
Esker, a provider of a cloud platform and AI-driven process automation solutions for finance, procurement and customer service, announced the issuance of U.S. Patent No. 11631265 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its machine learning technology. Esker's AI-based solutions cover both the order-to-cash (O2C) and source-to-pay (S2P) cycles and are designed to significantly reduce the number of low value-added repetitive tasks. The patented technology meets the requirements for accurate automated data extraction from incoming documents. For companies with a large customer base, manually entering information for invoices, purchase orders and other documents is not only time-consuming, but also costly. Esker's newly patented AI technology uses traditional and machine learning algorithms to recognize data fields, make decisions regarding document routing, and suggest next processing steps. The goal is to reduce the number of manual operations as much as possible. Data is read in from a document, and the AI creates rules that determine what data should be retrieved and in what format. User input adjusts these rules. The accuracy of the extraction process increases over time. This interaction of AI technology and employee oversight virtually eliminates error-prone manual data entry.
