Google Cloud Solutions for SAP

It was agreed that there will be a sustained cloud platform alignment for Google and SAP top management and Google partners with SAP in many areas across product portfolios.

Together with external customers, core integrations are being brought into the Google product offering with the goal of not only creating the best platform for SAP applications, but also leveraging powerful Big Data and Machine Learning capabilities towards an "intelligent enterprise".

A lot has happened since the start of the partnership: On the one hand, the Google Cloud offers an ideal platform for running SAP workloads in a high-performance, scalable manner and with great security and reliability.

Existing or new SAP applications can be migrated step-by-step to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Of the three cloud usage models, IaaS, Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS), there is currently the option of running SAP workloads as IaaS on GCP.

Furthermore, the general immediate availability of SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) on GCP was announced at Sapphire 2018 in Orlando. SCP provides PaaS capabilities such as in-memory computing capabilities, core platform services and dedicated microservices to intelligently augment existing applications and create cloud-based web applications.
