SAP licensing is complex and requires technical and legal know-how. Only those who have optimized their licenses do not pay more than necessary or risk expensive additional payments.

Usage-based versus authorization-based user license allocation: Since the introduction of the SAP user license types "SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management for Professional/Functional/Productivity Use", there has been uncertainty in the SAP community as to the basis on which user licensing and, accordingly, measurement should be carried out.
