Book tips - EU-DSGVO
EU-DSGVO
At the moment, it's hard to avoid the topic of data protection: The US Cloud Act and the European Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) ultimately concern us all. Both legal standards have a massive impact on companies that process personal data. The current issue of E-3 Magazine is dedicated to the topic with an extra reporting section on the DSGVO with over 30 pages (starting on page 31) and a double page spread on the US Cloud Act on pages 22 and 23. In order to implement the new EU regulations, in many cases there will be no way around bringing in an external partner for support. This ensures that all technical, legal and organizational requirements can be met. But which offer best meets your own requirements? In the May book tips, we present relevant literature that provides the basic knowledge that will help you make a well-founded, sustainable decision.

EU General Data Protection Regulation 2018
With the new EU General Data Protection Regulation, supervisory authorities are to have equal powers to monitor and ensure compliance with the rules on the protection of personal data, as well as equal means of sanctions in the event of their violation. The development and design of a European data economy needs clear guidance. This guide is intended to help educate and at the same time provide guidance to companies on the correct application of the new law.
Data for the People
Andreas Weigend, ex-chief scientist of Amazon, says: It is high time to put the power over our data back into the right hands. In "Data for the People," he elaborates six fundamental rights for data that we should demand as citizens and customers, and shows how we can use data for our own purposes - so that we can regain power over our data.
EU General Data Protection Regulation
This handbook provides guidance on the practical implementation of the GDPR and a systematic analysis of the new regulations. It is also dedicated to organizational and substantive data protection requirements, data subjects' rights, the role of supervisory authorities, enforcement and fines under the Regulation, as well as national specifics.
Data protection law
This book enables legally interested practitioners, including those without legal training, to gain an overview of the essential framework of the new data protection standards. It also creates an awareness of the problems in order to be able to correctly classify the data protection issues that frequently arise in business practice and to develop an understanding of possible solutions.
Improved and diluted
With the GDPR, the same data protection law applies word for word to all countries of the European Union. However, the GDPR allows individual European countries to provide for exceptions. This is what the German legislator has done in the new Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG-neu). The book introduces the GDPR and the new BDSG with many examples, references and advice.
