Accenture drives SAP-on-Azure hybrid cloud deployment
For Accenture, it is clear that companies need an efficient and effective way to transform and modernize their SAP landscapes. From the perspective of the long-standing and strategic SAP partner, the background to this is in particular: changing business requirements in the digitalization era with the need to operate SAP solutions in the cloud.
And to exploit the advantages offered by the cloud. Namely, cost reductions, increased flexibility and practically limitless scaling options, as well as optimized or improved analytics options and access to Internet of Things resources/capacities. There is also the potential opportunity to make better use of the agility/flexibility resources of SAP systems.
Preference should be given to a cloud platform that takes exceptional security standards and compliance guidelines into account. In addition, it should be ensured that large and largest SAP Hana workloads can be handled in a cloud so that large enterprises with their special requirements for SAP S/4 operations, for example, can also benefit from hybrid cloud use and adequately meet the business challenges.
Extensive SAP and Microsoft expertise
The long-standing and leading SAP and Microsoft solution provider believes it is well equipped to support companies in their digitalization transformation, including hybrid cloud transformation, in line with their needs.
The fact that multi-tenant hybrid cloud environments have been certified by SAP and practical cloud experience from the company's own private cloud has also been incorporated into the Accenture Services and Solutions on offer.
For example, in the S/4 Hana Cloud Solution, with short "infrastructure plan, build and implementation times" using Microsoft Azure, designed for large enterprise workloads and the use of the Azure Hana Large Instances offering (up to 24 TB in scale-up and up to 60 TB in scale-out).
They enable public cloud deployment or the management of high-volume SAP workloads on dedicated bare-metal hardware (compute and NetApp storage, Azure NetApp files) including the operating system platform and SAP application layer, hosted in native Azure VMs. A total of 18 different SAP topologies are supported.
In this context, automated deployments (configurations) of convergent infrastructures for SAP workloads with high performance can be provided in Azure in accordance with one-touch principles. And all this on the basis of gold standard infrastructures for Hana and Hana-based application solutions.
Accenture has identified the following business benefits from the infrastructure SAP-on-Microsoft Azure deployment (and the Hana Cloud Solution): speed-to-market, increased RPO/RTO performance, a reduction in back-up times including optimizations in terms of disaster recovery and business continuity, capex and opex minimization, comprehensive data provisioning according to industry compliance and improved SLAs through proactive maintenance.
