Trend: Process Mining and Robotic Process Automation
In addition to the improved user interface and optimized and enhanced features, PAFnow 2019.1 also offers a tangible performance improvement.
This is a speed improvement by a factor of 50 in the frontend and an accelerated data transformation by a factor of 10 in the backend.
Users of the Pemium and Enterprise versions also benefit from optimized visualizations.
"In general, with seamless and installation-free integration with Power BI and Office 365, organizations can benefit from process mining in minutes. Free of charge, without proprietary stand-alone solutions and without data science skills."
says Tobias Rother, founder and CEO of PAF.
Thanks to the complete, installation-free integration in Microsoft Power BI in conjunction with a consistent open data model, companies of all sizes can immediately start process analysis and optimization via process mining and use data from all areas of the company for this purpose. For this purpose, provided content packs can be easily and quickly extended department-specifically.
This provides a transparent view of the actual processes in areas such as controlling, taxes, cash management, internal auditing, master data maintenance, risk assessment of suppliers or customers, or delivery reliability.
The demand for optimization tools based on process mining is growing. At the same time, however, there is still a perceived financing hurdle, especially for many SMEs. This is suggested by the current study "Process Mining & RPA 2019" by IDG Research Services.
According to the study, more than 90 percent of companies believe that "digitization cannot be achieved without process mining and the automation of processes".
Accordingly, 19 percent of companies with a relatively large IT budget of more than 250,000 euros are currently involved in applying process mining to all existing processes.
Of the smaller companies with lower budgets, only seven percent have planned to do so, according to the study, although these companies also see the greatest benefit of process mining in the greater transparency of processes.
PAFnow is available in four versions: the free version and the licensed versions Pro, Premium and Enterprise. The free version already offers the full process mining functionality.
It is a so-called Custom Visual and can be found in the Microsoft Power BI Marketplace AppSource. Alternatively, the tool is available for download on the PAF website after registration.
Users will find a quick guide and sample event log data here. The prerequisites are a free desktop license for Microsoft Power BI and event data from upstream systems such as SAP, Salesforce and Excel.
