Robust with IT
Capabilities through agile technology
As part of a study, BearingPoint analyzed more than 5,000 projects with the aim of assessing the resilience characteristics of 150 companies. The team then developed a benchmark that companies can use to examine their own resilience. 60 percent of the companies surveyed said their techniques were fully resilient. Eighty-two percent said their company had become more agile by using agile methods in their technology areas. Seventy-two percent reported better collaboration, and another 72 percent emphasized that time to market for new offerings had accelerated.
The study clearly shows that companies that use agile methods are more resilient than their competitors. At the same time, however, it finds that even these companies cannot simply sit back and relax. Resilient companies attach great importance to IT and business units working closely together: On the one hand, this ensures that current technologies are used as effectively as possible; on the other hand, they recognize at an early stage which new technologies they should invest in to increase value creation.
