Austria's industry produces more digitally than Germany
Austria's industry wants to significantly expand production with the help of digital technologies in the coming years. According to a study by the auditing and consulting organization EY, 60 percent of medium-sized industrial companies already have at least some digital control of their production.
This means that industrial companies from Austria are currently more digitally controlled than companies in Germany, where only 54 percent have digitally controlled production.
Nevertheless, there is still a lot of room for improvement: Just seven percent have already networked their production largely or completely digitally.
16 percent of companies do not yet use Industrie 4.0 at all, but are planning to introduce it in their operations. For almost a quarter, Industrie 4.0 plays no role either currently or in the future.
