Linux Foundation Europe establishes advisory board
The advisory body is intended to accelerate cooperation
Linux Foundation Europe announces the members of the Linux Foundation Europe Advisory Board (LFEAB), which includes a cross-section of 20 leading European organizations within the EU, UK and beyond. The Advisory Board members represent a range of organizations of different sizes and from different industries, and each share a common vision for open source collaboration.
The Advisory Board will play an important role in serving the growing Linux Foundation Europe community, which now includes 100 member organizations from across the European region. The broad representation of Linux Foundation Europe participants across the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States is critical and helps advance LF Europe's mission. This is to enable regional collaboration on shared priorities without encouraging increased fragmentation and technological nationalism.
To ensure a strong representation of the community, Linux Foundation Europe projects can also nominate a representative as an observer to the advisory board. The advisory board, whose first meeting was held in April during Kubecon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2023, will have a wide range of responsibilities. These include providing guidance to LF Europe on how to work with the public sector to participate in projects, as well as responding to key legislation impacting the technology ecosystem - a recent example being the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), the AI Act, and the Digital Services and Digital Markets Act.
