Digital solutions for the public sector


The Smart Country Convention combines congress, expo, training and networking and is organized by the digital association Bitkom and Messe Berlin. Patrons are the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the partner country Lithuania.
On several stages, the Bitkom Digital Conferences (Digital Office, Energy and Mobility) and in numerous workshops, pioneers at the Smart Country Convention will show how digitization works in practice and how to develop the digital cities and regions of tomorrow.
A total of around 10,000 representatives from politics, administration, the digital economy, associations and science are expected - including Federal Minister of the Interior Horst Seehofer, Federal Minister of Transport Andreas Scheuer, FDP leader Christian Lindner, Andreas Feicht, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economics, and Katherina Reiche, Chief Executive of the Association of Municipal Enterprises, VKU.
The topics range from IT security, digital citizen services, IT infrastructure and e-procurement in digital administration to the digitization of public services in the areas of security, transport, energy, supply and disposal, education, health and housing. The Smart Country Convention is aimed at the federal government as well as representatives of the states, cities and municipalities.
