Colleague robot
Adaptable and trainable lightweight robots interact with their human and robotic counterparts at the booth of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) at the booth of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence.
The three identical robots at the DFKI booth are telemanipulated by an operator at the neighboring BMBF booth via HoloLens glasses.
Researchers will also demonstrate the telemanipulation of two robots via live connection to DFKI's MRK4.0 innovation lab at the Saarbrücken site.
The operator controls the processes in a mixed reality environment (HoloLens) with gestures. The robots execute the commands and grab or move objects on a tray mounted on the mobility robot.
The object is thus transported safely between the lightweight robots. The goal is to practice the error-free handling of the robots in a dangerous goods situation. Practical areas of application include remote maintenance, telepresence, teleproduction or teleoperation, and human-robot collaboration.
Mohammad Mehdi Moniri, Head of Mixed Reality Development at DFKI, will explain further details on human-robot collaboration at the Future Talk lecture forum.
