Changes to the SAP Executive Board


SAP has announced that Sebastian Steinhäuser (39) is moving up to join the SAP Executive Board. He will head the newly created Strategy & Operations division. SAP's Supervisory Board has also extended the contract of Executive Board member Thomas Saueressig, head of Customer Services & Delivery, for a further three years until 2028.

SAP also announced the formation of an extended executive board made up of company executives, including the newly appointed CTO, the Co-CROs and the CMO (Chief Marketing Officer). The new SAP Extended Executive Board will act as a strategic advisory body to drive the implementation of the company's “AI first, Suite first” strategy. SAP's Executive Board remains the company's highest management body.
New board division for faster strategy implementation and simplified operations
The new Strategy & Operations board division is meant to drive SAP's transformation goals and strategy internally and externally, as well as simplify company operations. This integration will be led by newly appointed CMO Ada Agrait.

Steinhäuser joined SAP in 2020 and has since held several roles, including Chief Strategy Officer. In this role, he also led the Business Transformation Management, Business Network, and Sustainability growth areas. In 2024, he was appointed Chief Strategy & Operations Officer. His responsibilities expanded to include business operations, processes, and IT, as well as the partner network and commercial functions. Prior to joining SAP, Steinhäuser worked at the Boston Consulting Group, where he supported clients in their corporate and digital transformation projects.
