E-3 Cover story July/August 2019

Where and how enterprise data is stored and the texture of the data itself is critical not only to IT success, but to digital business success in general.
Cloud file storage and data management services are fundamental cornerstones for realizing beneficial SAP hybrid cloud computing with digitization. SAP customers benefit from a unified NetApp data management architecture.
Azure is on the rise in general and among SAP users in particular. There is an on-demand IaaS offering of public cloud services for SAP deployment.
Outsourcing IT work steps in the operation of SAP infrastructures has a long tradition. If you want, you can fall back on Managed Service SAP on Azure as a service outsourcing and conveniently keep your back free even in the hybrid cloud era and concentrate on the essentials.
Now it is possible with IT tools to completely provision SAP on-premises systems as a quasi digital twin and to transfer and operate them in a public cloud. And - if necessary - to transfer them back to on-premises. Everything is highly automated.
In SAP infrastructures, Linux as the operating system platform and other open source technologies act as core elements. Both for cloud and on-prem use. This makes them ready for the hybrid multicloud era.
In the Cisco Data Center architecture stack, the three pillars of security, multicloud, and automation, along with the solutions provided, play the main roles in supporting multiple hybrid cloud deployments. They do not stand in isolation, but are interconnected or form bridges.
Changing business requirements are triggers for companies to move SAP application use or operations to the cloud. SAP on Microsoft Azure and Accenture provide infrastructure services for SAP hybrid cloud deployments, including large SAP enterprise workloads.

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
