Great optimism at C-Level
Digital transformation
The majority of executives believe that the progress and change measures in the course of the digital transformation in their own company are on the right track. Only three percent disagree. The survey also revealed that a good half of the companies (52 percent) have been dealing with the organizational development required for digital transformation for more than three years. Relative "newcomers" in the area of digital transformation are primarily retail and consumer goods companies. Fifty-seven percent of executives from this sector stated that they have only been driving digital transformation for one to less than three years.
The majority of executives stated that the topic of digital transformation is a top priority in their company: Responsibility is predominantly at C-level (59 percent agreement; in industrial companies even 72 percent agreement) and also still at middle management level (50 percent agreement). Even though almost all of the executives surveyed are optimistic - they also see challenges in the digital transformation in their own companies. Just under a third of all executives surveyed see the lack of acceptance for change (32 percent) as the greatest challenge.
Other challenges for executives include, above all, a lack of time to adapt working practices and behaviors, insufficient use of new technologies, and an understanding of technology as purely an implementation vehicle (31 percent each).
