Optimal SAP processes depend on cost-efficient and secure system operation. SAP Basis teams are responsible for this. Automation software is the benefit provider.
Keeping SAP systems up to date is one of the most urgent tasks for SAP Basis teams. Suite solutions for the automation of SAP Basis tasks act as a kind of lifeline.
The importance of automation software for SAP system or SAP Basis operation is currently increasing for two main reasons: To achieve time and cost savings and to ensure the highest possible level of security.
CCC managers are under pressure to act due to the S/4 Cloud strategy when it comes to SAP Basis. For decades, SAP Customer Competence Centers (CCC) have taken place only within individual companies, and have not been open to others.
More and more users are opting for complete or suite solutions for SAP Basis automation software. Vendors of such software, which provide various applications as part of a complete package, are turning the wheel of development.
Automation tools have long since become established for creating SAP system copies. SAP Basis teams expect providers to provide them with such software systems based on the latest technologies.
It is now well known that automation solutions for SAP Basis also bring rationalization benefits. However, they also bring additional benefits for the staff that manages SAP Basis and infrastructure staff; these benefits should not be underestimated.
Demand-driven SAP deployment depends to a large extent on a well-oiled SAP infrastructure. The focus here is on the SAP basis and the tasks to be performed.
SAP deployment entails a whole bundle of tasks and activities for SAP Basis and SAP infrastructure teams that need to be processed or mastered. Actually, they are always time- and resource-intensive and thus cost-intensive.
Infrastructure challenges were and are high for SAP Basis managers and employees in companies. Targeted automation solutions are in fact the only way to get a grip on the many tasks and activities.
Competence Centers (CC) have established themselves over the years in companies that rely on SAP and SAP solutions. The topics and activities that CC managers and CC teams have to deal with are diverse and sometimes challenging.
The SAP infrastructure is largely responsible for whether and how SAP application software runs. A number of parameters and data can change influentially practically on a daily basis. The use of a central system management framework helps several times over.

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
