Basis, FI, BW, CO and SD are the most sought-after SAP modules
FI, BW, CO and SD
Although the increase in demand for SAP freelancers in February did not quite keep pace with the development of the market as a whole, external SAP expertise was still sought in almost one in five projects (18.9 percent of all project offers). Among the various SAP skills, FI, BW, CO and SD were in particular demand alongside the Basis module.
SAP project inquiries at average level
The number of project offers to external IT/engineering specialists rose by 5.3 percent in February compared with the previous month to 13,839 inquiries. Although the SAP index did not develop quite as buoyantly as the IT project market index in February, economic times remain good for SAP experts.
The number of project offers to external SAP experts in February remained just above the average level of the past twelve months (2579 requests) at 2618.
SAP expertise was sought in around one-fifth (18.9 percent) of all projects offered. Apart from the demand for Java, no other technical qualification currently holds such a high share of the project pie.
The most sought-after modules: Basis, FI, BW, CO and SD
The SAP Basis module was the most in demand in February. SAP Basis was requested in 20 percent of the project proposals in which an external SAP consultant was sought. FI, the module for financial accounting, was sought after in 17 percent of SAP inquiries, putting it in second place - closely followed by the Business Information Warehouse (BW) module with 16 percent of SAP inquiries.
BW is also the module that suffered the greatest losses: in January, its share was still 21.9 percent. The strongest growth from January to February was achieved by the CO controlling module, which gained fourth place among the most sought-after SAP skills with an increase of 3.7 percentage points.
