The smartphone in particular has become an everyday companion. According to a study by VMware, more and more specialist departments are making technological decisions and thus driving innovation.<\/p>\n<p>The decentralization of IT brings numerous business benefits, according to the key findings of the global study based on a survey of IT decision-makers and department heads: New products and services can be brought to market faster (59 percent), companies have more freedom to drive innovation (58 percent) and it is easier to respond to changing market conditions (56 percent).<\/p>\n<p>The fact that other areas besides the IT department also claim responsibility for IT and technology resources has a positive impact on personnel development: employee satisfaction is increased (55 percent) and young talent can be recruited more easily (54 percent).<\/p>\n<p>However, this development is also accompanied by numerous challenges. Video clips of all penalty kicks stored in the database can be retrieved, and filters can be used to analyze the shooting preferences of penalty takers.<\/p>\n<p>It is also possible to determine which players are most likely to take the next penalty kick.<\/p>\n<p>Filters enable detailed player analysis and the detection of behavioral patterns.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the game situation or shooting characteristics such as a player's run-up, it is also possible to examine, for example, which goal area a shooter is aiming at.<br \/>\n<!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h4><strong>One third of all cyber attacks successful<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/e3mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Sapanopticon february 2017\" class=\"wp-image-9289 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/e3mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/8.jpg\" alt=\"8\" width=\"234\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/e3mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/8.jpg 362w, https:\/\/e3mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/8-100x156.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 234px) 100vw, 234px\" \/><\/a>On average, two to three attacks per month breach the company's security precautions.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, eight out of ten people responsible for IT security (81 percent) in Germany feel well equipped to defend against attacks.<\/p>\n<p>These are the results of a survey of 2,000 IT security managers in 15 countries conducted by the consulting firm Accenture.<\/p>\n<p>The survey asked for information on cyberattacks that had taken place, the effectiveness of security measures and the existing budget in companies with an annual turnover of more than one billion US dollars.<\/p>\n<p>Almost nine out of ten respondents (87%) in Germany stated that IT security is considered important by the board of directors and is supported accordingly. 81 percent of respondents are convinced that their strategy for defending against cyber attacks is working.<\/p>\n<p>In a global comparison, this figure is somewhat lower at 75%.<\/p>\n<p>German companies are also confident that they can monitor cyber attacks (52 percent) and identify the cause (56 percent).<\/p>\n<p>These results are also above the global average. Instead of selective measures, companies should develop a long-term strategy for their basic protection. Following specific trends is even counterproductive in this situation.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\"The annual lookout for trends in IT security is above all an expression of good lobbying by the respective manufacturers; it does nothing to improve the security situation\"<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>says security expert Patrick Schraut from NTT Security<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\"Such trends can only be considered by those who are already operating at the highest level in terms of security. There is a threat of heavy penalties.<\/p>\n<p>The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force in May 2018 and standardize data protection law in the EU with regard to data security, storage and governance.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, companies must disclose in more detail how and where sensitive, personal data is shared and stored. This includes how organizations monitor and control access to this information.<\/p>\n<p>According to a recent study by data management specialist Veritas, 54 percent of organizations from Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the United States and Asia Pacific have not yet addressed the issue of providing GDPR compliance.<\/p>\n<p>The responses show that the main focus is on operational measures, compliance and planning. In particular, it is a question of process ownership and the ability to implement guidelines for data cleansing and to comply with deletion obligations.<br \/>\n<!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h4>Right to be forgotten<\/h4>\n<p>If there is no legitimate reason for storage and a person insists that their data be deleted, the company must comply with the request within a specified period of time in accordance with the GDPR.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, a lack of insight into dark data and information stored outside of company systems makes compliance more difficult. This exposes companies to considerable financial and legal risks.<\/p>\n<p>A fine of a maximum of 20 million euros or up to four percent of global turnover - whichever is greater - may be imposed.<br \/>\n<!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h4><strong>New guide to data protection<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/e3mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Sapanopticon february 2017\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9285\" src=\"https:\/\/e3mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/4.jpg\" alt=\"Personal data\" width=\"361\" height=\"467\" srcset=\"https:\/\/e3mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/4.jpg 361w, https:\/\/e3mag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/4-100x129.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 361px) 100vw, 361px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Bitkom guideline on the \"Transfer of personal data - domestic, EU countries, third countries\", which has been in existence for some time now<br \/>\nis available in an updated version.<\/p>\n<p>The ECJ ruling on Safe Harbor in autumn 2015 and the protracted negotiations on the successor Privacy Shield until the summer of last year led to some uncertainty regarding the requirements for data transfers to the USA and other third countries.<\/p>\n<p>The new Bitkom guideline provides an overview of what generally needs to be considered when transferring data.<\/p>\n<p>Current developments have been incorporated on the basis of the applicable legal situation under the General Data Protection Regulation.<\/p>\n<p>The guide is intended to provide orientation for the period up to May 25, 2018. There will be a further revision in good time before this date - then completely based on the EU regulation.<br \/>\n<!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Number of the month: 123456<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The world's most popular password remains \"123456\".
