The award in the \"Entrepreneur of the Year\" category recognizes not only SAP's current success, but above all its strategic importance as a world-class digital player.<\/p>\n

He said the company has set standards in enterprise digitization, becoming a market leader in enterprise applications, mobile solutions, analytics and business intelligence.<\/p>

said VDZ Managing Director Stephan Scherzer, explaining the jury's choice.<\/p>\n

McDermott will receive the Golden Victoria at the VDZ Publishers' Night on November 7 in Berlin.<\/p>\n

With the award, the VDV honors personalities for their achievements also in the categories \"Integration\", \"Freedom of the Press\", \"Lifetime Achievement\" and \"European of the Year\".<\/p>\n

Among the prize winners of recent years are conductor Daniel Barenboim, Franz Beckenbauer, Joachim Gauck, Israeli President Shimon Peres, Hans-Dietrich Genscher, Henry Kissinger and Mikhail Gorbachev.<\/p>\n
