Scansor ensures smooth operation of systems, databases and critical business processes in real time, around the clock. By increasing SAP system availability, companies can save time, resources and money. The monitoring solution analyzes data directly from the source of the SAP systems and databases, including Java as well as a Hana DB monitoring.

As innovations, Scansor offers sensors for monitoring the status of SAP certificates, SAP Business Objects, PI Messages or the free storage space of SAP and the database. An SAP security check sensor is also used to search for critical authorization objects in the Abap system - this serves as a tool for an upcoming audit, for example. Scansor is a further development and is based on PRTG from Paessler. The software integrates already configured SAP-specific sensors.

Quick start for IT

Microsoft and q.beyond are cooperating on the migration of SAP systems to the Microsoft Azure Public Cloud. The two companies have agreed a partnership for this purpose. The aim is to support medium-sized companies on their way to a future-proof S/4 solution and fully integrated IT environment. q.beyond is a Microsoft partner in the exclusive SAP DCM (Datacenter Migration) Sprint program.

This means that q.beyond and its customers benefit from direct access to technical information from Microsoft, among other things. Microsoft's Azure Public Cloud is particularly suitable for operating the SAP system in business projects such as company mergers or the realignment of the process landscape: for example, S/4 test scenarios can be set up very quickly and cost-effectively without companies having to invest in their own infrastructure for SAP operations beforehand. q.beyond has already supported its first customers with a rapid migration to S/4 in this way.

Collabora integrated into OwnCloud

OwnCloud is currently working on a rewrite of its digital collaboration platform under the name OwnCloud Infinite Scale. A broad ecosystem from the open source community is already supporting the new development with its own implementations. Collabora is also one of the partners. Collabora is working on integrating the open source office suite Collabora Online into the new OwnCloud platform. This will give existing Collabora Online customers the opportunity to migrate from OwnCloud 10 to OwnCloud Infinite Scale.

KPS among the top 10

In the Lünendonk list "Leading Providers of Digital Experience Services in Germany", published for the first time in 2020, KPS was ranked among the top 10 service providers. As an IT and management consultancy, KPS supports companies across Europe in their digital transformation and customer focus. KPS consultants have successfully implemented Digital Experience Services (DXS) projects for Christ Juweliere, Globus Warenhaus, Man Energy Solutions, XXXLutz, Zur Rose and Ochsner Sport in Switzerland.

The new Lünendonk list provides an overview of which service providers on the German market offer a holistic portfolio of digital consulting services, digital agency services and digital technology services. Lünendonk refers to the combination of these service categories as Digital Experience Services. The ranking is based on the total revenue of the service providers and the revenue shares in the three service categories. Out of 20 companies listed and more than 30 analyzed, KPS, with its focus on digital consulting and digital agency services, took tenth place.

SAP Switzerland awards innovation prizes

Once again this year, SAP Switzerland is recognizing selected customers from the public sector for their innovative solutions based on SAP platforms and technologies. As part of the Public Services Forum, which was held virtually for the first time, SAP selected two winners of the Innovation Award from among the organizations that provide public services.

The 2020 winners are SBB and the Canton of Zurich. Together with integration and implementation partner Orianda Solutions, SBB has spent the past three years laying the foundations for the transition from a more time-based to a reliability-oriented maintenance approach. The SAP Asset Strategy and Performance Management (ASPM) solution is at the heart of this development. As the economically strongest canton in Switzerland, the canton of Zurich was particularly affected by the coronavirus-related lockdown in March 2020.

With the original completely manual process, the processing and payment of short-time work applications would have taken weeks or months. In order to speed up this process between applicant companies, unemployment insurance funds and the systems of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO as the payment office, this process has now been equipped with intelligence and largely automated in collaboration with SAP and Prodyna.

Flexibility of the cloud in the data center

NetApp introduces enhancements to NetApp Ontap cloud-connected data management software and announces a more flexible NetApp Keystone Flex Subscription and a new NetApp SolidFire Enterprise SDS solution to bring the flexibility of the cloud to the on-premises data center. These updates help organizations get the most out of the cloud. With NetApp's support, they can optimize cloud performance and security, reduce costs, easily extend data management from on-premises to any cloud, and obtain a hybrid cloud infrastructure as a service.

SAP Cloud for MTU

Nagarro ES supports the company MTU Maintenance Lease Services (MLS) in the implementation of S/4 Hana Cloud in the Extended Edition as well as SAP Sales Cloud. MTU MLS is a subsidiary of the German engine manufacturer MTU Aero Engines. MLS is aiming for an integrated future-oriented system with the new solutions: These are intended to optimally map and support not only standard processes, but also the company's own processes. They should offer a good user experience. And they should be flexible and scalable to keep pace with future growth. The go-live of S/4 Hana Cloud and SAP Sales Cloud is planned for mid-2021.

Digital sovereignty

In its recently published statement "Sustainable use of open source for digitally sovereign administration", the OSB (Open Source Business) Alliance calls for a rethink of IT procurement processes in public institutions: away from product-focused and towards requirements- and function-oriented tenders.

According to the OSB Alliance, this is the only way to gain a comprehensive overview of the diverse solutions and offerings of open source. In OwnCloud's opinion, the OSB Alliance is on the right track with this approach - just like the European Union with its open source strategy, which it presented on October 21 and with which it wants to set the course for Europe's digital future. Both approaches aim to create a sovereign European data infrastructure that lays the foundation for Europe's digital sovereignty and independence.

Nexoya integrated into SAP Marketing Cloud

The SaaS start-up Nexoya is now a certified SAP partner. In the SAP App Center, companies can find around 1600 certified partner solutions that they can integrate into their SAP environment. The Nexoya Marketing Analytics solution has also been available here since the end of September. This optimizes marketing campaigns based on machine learning and artificial intelligence. Thanks to the partnership, customers using SAP Marketing Cloud can read their SAP data with the Nexoya solution and process it together with the data collected there.

The integration of Nexoya Marketing Analytics into the SAP Marketing Cloud solution enables SAP customers to compare and analyze data from campaigns or mailings with exogenous factors and data from third-party systems - such as information from Google Analytics, the weather or currencies. Nexoya works with modern AI methods for this: based on historical performance, it calculates how each individual campaign and each individual asset will behave in the future or how they correlate with other values. This opens up a wide range of possibilities for the practical work of marketing teams: they can create reports and gain insights into their data.

Based on historical performance, Nexoya Marketing Analytics calculates how each individual asset will behave in the future.

Fixit Group on SAP

CNT Management Consulting has successfully converted a total of six plants throughout Italy to SAP for the Fixit Group. Jana Ferencikova acted as project manager. In addition to the introduction of standard processes from the global template in the Materials Management (MM), Sales & Distribution (SD), Production Planning (PP) and Controlling & Finance (CO-FI) modules, new developments were also implemented in the areas of commission accounting, customer-side freight invoicing, returnable packaging processing and electronic invoicing. The four-year framework agreement focuses on projects relating to the SAP systems and the Abakus add-on (current development bank application and customer system). The range of services extends from project management to the (further) development of the system landscapes. ILB is thus once again relying on Innobis as a specialist for SAP applications at (development) banks on its path to innovative, digital business processes and digital transformation.
