The SAP ATC (Automated Test Cockpit) component is used. The tool delivers so-called findings, i.e. concrete code points that need to be checked before the conversion to S/4 Hana. Innobis interprets and categorizes the findings, checks the components to be adapted for their further usability or relevance, and evaluates the categorized findings taking into account aspects such as effort reduction.

The SAP service provider, which has been active in the banking environment for 30 years, has the necessary expertise. This includes mature architectural knowledge of industry-specific add-ons or proprietary developments, detailed knowledge of the SAP core banking solutions (SAP CML, CMS, GP, FI, etc.) and many years of experience with release upgrades and migrations at banks.

Document management for Business ByDesign

ECM/DMS specialist Kendox has implemented new language packages for the document management solution Kendox InfoShare for SAP Business ByDesign. InfoShare is now available in six additional languages. In addition to German, English and Italian, the cloud-based DMS software is now also available in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese and Mandarin. This is Kendox's response to the increasing demand from international companies that use InfoShare as an extension of the SAP Business ByDesign cloud ERP system.

The Kendox DMS software can be seamlessly integrated into the cloud ERP solution via standard interfaces. Thanks to the scalability and openness of the overall system, document-based processes can be implemented consistently and without media disruptions in the company. Users are supported in filing documents efficiently, archiving them in a legally compliant manner and, above all, retrieving them quickly and easily.

New business partner portal

With its new development for the cloud, xSuite provides SAP user companies with a central platform to carry out Procure-2-Pay processes (ordering and payment) with suppliers in a digital and standardized manner. Purchasing, accounting and suppliers exchange all procurement-related data and documents via the portal, while an automatic transfer of all data and documents from the portal to the SAP system relieves the burden on purchasing and accounting.

"xSuite Business Partner Portal Sphere" is operated via the SAP Cloud Platform (SCP). The target group is SAP user companies with ERP or S/4 Hana in use. With the new business portal from xSuite, Purchasing continues to work in its familiar SAP environment. Purchase orders are generated and automatically made available to the supplier in the portal. The supplier can then generate all subsequent documents from the order independently and transfer them back to the purchasing department via the portal.

New time slot management

At peak times, there are often traffic jams in front of or on the factory premises. To provide companies with the right tool for effective loading and unloading planning, Leogistics offers its Myleo/Slot time slot management solution with a new pricing model in Basic, Advanced and Enterprise versions. The solution can be used to allocate time slots according to requirements and capacities at loading points, gates or filling systems and to increase planning reliability by integrating real-time data.

It also makes it possible to integrate the processes of freight forwarders and companies, which saves time and money when booking time slots. Depending on your requirements, you can choose between three versions of the time slot management solution: While Basic service providers, for example, can be used to book time slots and manage them in a user-friendly application, Advanced service providers can book time slots with the help of various features for loading and unloading sequences, time slot optimization and live tracking information.

With Myleo/Slot Enterprise, companies control and monitor their fully integrated loading and unloading processes using the platform. With the updated pricing model, Leogistics aims to create an offer that gives all customers and interested parties the opportunity to experience the benefits of the logistics platform for themselves.

New technology platform

SAP and E.ON are developing a new process and technology platform for the energy group's network operators. Together, the two partners want to establish a new benchmark in the German grid business. The aim is to use SAP cloud solutions (S/4 Hana) to make core billing and market communication processes more efficient and standardized across the Group.

This means that the E.ON Group's energy suppliers, metering point and network operators can exchange information faster, more precisely and more easily. The processes will be standardized and existing different billing and market communication systems of the regional E.ON units will be brought onto the new platform.

Thanks to consistent data, standard solutions and best practices can be used and the costs for individual in-house developments can be reduced. The initial impetus for the introduction of the new technology at E.ON is the integration of Innogy into the Group.

Smart interface wonders

IoTmaxx from Hanover stands for powerful and transparent industrial IoT solutions for SMEs that are easy to use. The solution includes OpenShift virtualization and helps enterprises overcome application barriers between a traditional and cloud-native infrastructure and extend control over distributed resources. With OpenShift virtualization, OpenShift now includes a new platform feature that enables enterprises to integrate VM-based workloads with Kubernetes.

This allows them to eliminate workflow and development silos that typically exist between traditional and cloud-native application environments. OpenShift virtualization was first introduced at Red Hat Summit 2020 as a technology preview and is now generally available and included in the OpenShift Container Platform at no additional cost.

Based on the open source KubeVirt project, OpenShift virtualization enables enterprises to develop, deploy, and manage applications comprised of VMs, containers, and serverless capabilities on a modern Kubernetes platform running on bare metal infrastructure.

Fit for the future

IO-Consultants developed a new concept for the central warehouse in Furtwangen for S. Siedle & Söhne and integrated the material flow control and the new processes into the existing SAP WM world. The consulting firm developed a comprehensive modernization concept for Siedle and subsequently guided the company through the implementation phase. The conversion work and the installation of AutoStore were carried out during ongoing operations.

The ramp-up began in May 2020 and final acceptance took place at the end of July 2020. S. Siedle & Söhne is a seventh-generation Black Forest family business that manufactures building communication technology. In 2018, Siedle decided to modernize its warehouse processes and technology. The existing small parts warehouse with its storage and retrieval machines (SRMs) had reached its limits, particularly when production was to be switched to order-related provision.

After commissioning IO-Consultants with their logistics and IT specialists, the first step was to carry out a fundamental analysis of all data and processes. After weighing up all the important parameters for Siedle, the decision was made in favor of an integrated pick & pack concept based on an AutoStore system as the successor to the outdated small parts warehouse.

In May 2020, the new AutoStore warehouse was put into operation during ongoing operations and the material flow control and all logistical and organizational processes were converted. IO-Consultants specializes in taking a holistic view of all processes.

In the depths of the application

Non-human privileged access rights pose a significant risk to company applications and data, warns Cyberark. This mainly concerns application accounts or technical accounts, i.e. the access data and passwords stored in applications, scripts or configuration files.

If an external attacker or malicious insider gets hold of them, they may be able to take complete control of a company's entire IT infrastructure. To eliminate this security risk, companies need to eliminate static credentials embedded in scripts or configuration files, advises Cyberark.

SAP-based purchasing

The new SAP strategy in connection with the end of maintenance of SAP SRM focuses on simplified processes and fewer customer-specific solutions in procurement. A major pain point, especially for medium-sized purchasing organizations, is the lack of a complete solution for integrated procurement processes from networked supplier management to source-to-contract and procure-to-pay.

Purchasing managers should therefore start thinking about a future-proof replacement solution for SAP SRM long before an upcoming S/4 Hana migration, advises Frank Schmidt, CEO of e-procurement provider Onventis. The all-in-one procurement suite from Onventis offers powerful S/4 interfaces. Buyers can use Onventis in SAP-based purchasing to access innovative modules such as "Delivery Schedules" for production and material planning, "Quantity Contracts" for framework agreements with automatic reminders or "ERP Imports" for orders.

In addition, the completely revised Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) module was recently launched on the market. In addition to a current stock and requirements forecast based on the transmitted SAP planning data, fixed and planned receipts and issues can also be displayed. In addition, order proposals are generated for suppliers. Suppliers are automatically contacted if their stock levels fall below the reorder point.

On demand or according to schedule

Virtustream, the enterprise professional cloud platform from Dell Technologies, announces the availability of new start/stop automation for SAP software environments and systems. This enables organizations to optimize costs and controls through new self-service tools and step-by-step status updates.

The functionality is available immediately via the xStream portal. The new automated services reduce both the time and manual effort required by a company's internal IT team to execute start/stop commands for SAP environments and systems.

Leveraging Virtustream's experience in migrating, optimizing and managing SAP workloads in the cloud, the new start/stop automation capability is available for all databases supported by xStream. This provides economic and business benefits for a wide range of business-critical enterprise applications in the cloud.

NetApp conquers new Google Cloud region

NetApp and Google Cloud are expanding their partnership with the availability of Cloud Volumes Service Performance in a new region. In addition to the Google Cloud regions Europe-West 2 (London) and Europe-West 3 (Frankfurt), the offering is now also available in Europe-West 4 (Netherlands).

NetApp and Google thus enable companies to obtain the fully managed enterprise-class data service from the data center closest to them with the best performance, lowest latency and at the most favorable conditions.

NetApp Cloud Volumes Service for Google Cloud is fully integrated with Google Cloud and provides a cloud-native file storage service with the performance, availability and security needed to efficiently run mission-critical applications such as Windows, VDI, SAP Hana and VMware. Customers can purchase the data service directly from the Google Cloud Marketplace.

Cloud-native management redefined

Red Hat introduces Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes, the latest addition to its portfolio of IT management technologies for the hybrid cloud. Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes aims to help organizations extend and scale Red Hat OpenShift with enterprise-class management capabilities across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

The new solution enables users to manage multiple Kubernetes clusters and deploy multi-cluster applications across hybrid clouds while ensuring compliance with policies and governance principles. Red Hat has developed Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes to provide organizations with tools to support containerized application environments across multiple clusters, whether an organization is just getting started with cloud-native computing or is already deploying next-generation workloads in production. The solution supports both the management of multiple clusters and the implementation of policies and governance controls.

Doxis4 for Purchase-to-Pay

SER has developed Doxis4 Intelligent Order Confirmation Automation, a solution for digitization in the purchase-to-pay process. Incoming order confirmations can thus be processed and posted directly in SAP in an automated manner. The intelligent SER solution supports purchasing and procurement in ensuring that goods are received on time and in full.

In addition, the solution improves transparency and quality throughout the purchase-to-pay process. As a globally active family business, Piller develops and manufactures high-performance blowers for the process industry. The customer-specific solutions meet the high technological requirements of refineries, chemical plants, power plants and general plant construction.

When the technology leader decided to replace the existing ERP system with S/4 Hana in 2016, the master data was examined for migration capability. A project with two objectives began in the first quarter of 2017: the development of a specific classification for better retrievability and the improvement of data quality for migration to S/4. Simus Systems was selected as the service provider. Over the course of two years, a customer-specific classification with functional characteristics was developed with all specialist departments.

The database was tested and optimized until an optimal master was achieved. In the process, the number of material master records was reduced by almost half. With the support of Simus Systems, the data migration was completed in time for the go-live on March 2, 2020.

An automated material master creation process now ensures that only complete and error-free master records enter the new ERP system. During the project, the decision was also made to introduce some Simus Classmate tools into the company.

Brand Driver Analysis

Qualtrics announces the launch of new advanced analytics for its BrandXM solution. BrandXM's built-in Brand Driver Analysis feature enables companies of all sizes to quickly prioritize their efforts to improve brand perception and consumer brand preference.

A brand driver analysis is usually time-consuming and resource-intensive. This is why a large part of the work is usually carried out by data scientists or consultants. Qualtrics' Brand Driver Analysis is based on Driver iQ. It enables marketers to define and quantify targets for the attributes that are most important for better brand preferences and business results.

They can determine what affects the brand performance of different customer segments without any additional time or financial outlay. With these insights, targeted measures can be taken to close the biggest gaps in the brand experience.

NetApp Expands Unified Partner Program

NetApp is updating its Unified Partner Program to further complement its partners' business models and capabilities. NetApp's partner program is being simplified and expanded to provide a unified program experience, enable customer digital transformation, improve partner profitability, and provide a trusted business environment.

NetApp is standardizing contracts and agreements, streamlining guidance and policies, and offering fewer, more targeted, deal-based incentives and discount programs to drive growth. Partners will also now be able to build a focused NetApp services practice as well as earn higher margins from their partnership. The program aims to enable up to 25 million people to acquire digital skills by the end of the year. In doing so, Microsoft wants to help employees in particular whose jobs are threatened by Covid-19. The initiative is aimed at anyone who wants to qualify for the demands of the digital world of work.

Free Trial of SAP Litmos

KWP Inside HR and SAP are enabling companies to test the SAP Litmos Training learning management system free of charge for three months. In this way, the two companies want to promote the important topic of further training and thus offer a perspective for the time after the crisis. KWP Inside HR provides support in setting up the trial system at a fixed price - if this is desired by the company.

In fact, SAP Litmos Training can also be set up independently and adapted to individual preferences without a great deal of effort or extensive prior knowledge. This is because the learning management system was originally designed by CRM provider Callidus as a stand-alone solution in the cloud with open interfaces. SAP made no fundamental changes to this following the acquisition of Callidus in 2018.

The LMS can therefore be connected to an existing SAP HCM or SAP SuccessFactors environment, but also works perfectly with CRM solutions from SAP or Salesforce, for example. Once set up, around 200 courses on various topics are available to users. The ready-made courses can easily be supplemented with your own training content.

No monthly SAP news should be disregarded.
