To this end, rku.it has developed an interface that connects the industry-specific ERP solution with the Ladenetz.de charging station information system from Smartlab Innovationsgesellschaft. Following a successful pilot project at Nordhorner Versorgungsbetriebe (NVB), energy suppliers and their customers will benefit in the long term.

SAP Convergent Invoicing is used as the basis for the invoicing processes. As it is fully integrated into NBI's system landscape, a central platform can continue to be used for invoicing. Integration into SAP IS-U also eliminates the need to synchronize customer master data.

Data that has already been entered is retained in high quality and the work of duplicate data storage is obsolete. The IT service provider Syntax was the implementation partner. Weidmüller wanted to digitize the manufacturing processes at its Wutha- Farnroda plant in Thuringia - as a blueprint for other Weidmüller production sites around the globe.

The aim was to increase digital consistency, to work paperless as far as possible, to bring transparency into the processes and to maximize the flexibility of man and machine. To achieve this, the machines were equipped with measuring cells and connected via a specially developed IoT controller. In addition, the introduced Manufacturing Execution System (MES) accesses the ERP system:

In the past, data was still in silos in various places; today it is centrally recorded. First and foremost, the workers benefit from the new Digital Workplace. Instead of a clipboard, workers now have an iPod in their hands on which they can see all the data relevant to them.

Workers can see the current status of their machines, capacity utilization and potential problems on their display. This saves them from having to make constant inspection rounds. In addition, visual inspections can now be documented, quantities recorded or material scanned in from anywhere via the iPod. All in all, the paths in production are much shorter as a result.

SAP strengthens partner program

SAP partners can now use software demo environments worldwide free of charge. This enables them to support their customers even more successfully in a dynamic business environment. Various initiatives are designed to help partners overcome the crisis quickly and build on previous successes.

The Partner Delivery Quality Framework is designed to ensure consistently high project quality and improve the experience of partners and customers. This includes standard processes, tools and reporting capabilities that partners can use to train and support their project staff and continuously monitor the quality of all projects. SAP also offers subsidies for consultant training and incentives for partner investments that contribute to customer success.

SAP itself will invest more in training and qualification offerings for partners. SAP partners will also receive free access to an integrated, pre-configured software demo environment to help drive sales conversations. This enables partners to use the most common demo scenarios for the intelligent enterprise.

In the coming months, further constellations are to be made available with which partners can support their customers on the way to becoming an intelligent company.

Co-Innovated with SAP

Implico, the international software and consulting company for the oil and gas industry, is celebrating a success on its digitalization journey. The "Connected Truck" and "Connected Depot 1.0" applications are now SAP-certified - based on the SAP cloud platform through the "Co-Innovated with SAP" program.

The cloud-based web services offer tank terminal operators and their business partners decisive advantages such as more efficient, reliable and transparent truck handling from arrival to departure. The "Co-Innovated with SAP" program supports partners throughout the entire development cycle, right up to an SAP-certified solution that has been tested in accordance with SAP product standards.

The "Connected Truck" and "Connected Depot" apps are part of "Supply Chain United" (SCU). They offer oil and gas companies complete optimization of operational processes and other benefits.

Hydac standardizes logistical pre-planning

Orbis from Saarbrücken has implemented the SAP Integrated Business Planning (SAP IBP) cloud solution at the Hydac group of companies with great success. Thanks to the expertise of
Orbis, which has already implemented several projects in the SAP environment at Hydac, and the collaborative partnership between all parties involved, SAP IBP went live as planned in June 2019.

With the introduction of SAP IBP, Hydac has created the prerequisites for uniform, consistent and continuous logistical pre-planning at any aggregation level (customer, plant, supplier, material). This and the fact that the pre-planning carried out in the individual departments can be consolidated into a coordinated, procurement-relevant pre-planning are a real added value.

This demand plan can be replicated directly into the SAP ERP system at Hydac and mapped there as planned independent requirements. Conversely, data for pre-planning is loaded from the ERP back-end into the planning solution. This bidirectional data exchange is made possible by linking SAP IBP and SAP ERP via SAP Cloud Platform Data Services (CPI-DS).

An Excel add-in ensures that users can carry out their planning in their familiar Excel environment. SAP IBP is currently being used in production control, but the next step is to roll out the application to other user groups such as technical sales and key account management.

New add-on solution for SAP Concur

For users of the SAP Concur business travel management software, the Munich-based IT service and consulting company Projekt0708 has now developed a new add-on solution for SAP Concur: "P78 Document & Review" allows quick and direct access from the filter screen to expenses and receipt images from the travel expense report.

The necessary documents for input tax refunds or audits can thus be made available in a time-saving manner and access rights can be managed using SAP authorizations. A typical and currently particularly relevant use case is input tax refunds for travel receipts from abroad, as tax refunds are an important cash flow protection measure for many companies in the current situation.

With the help of "P78 Document & Review", not only can total expenditure and expected reimbursements be determined, but all individual receipts can also be displayed directly and extracted into the company's own folder structure in a sorted manner. This saves companies time and resources without having to commission external service providers.

Double award for CNT

After winning two "SAP Partner of the Year" titles, CNT Management Consulting has now also impressed at the SAP Quality Awards EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). The companies Porsche and Porr, which had already received SAP Gold Awards at national level last September, were equally successful in a global comparison with their digitalization projects managed by CNT: Porsche won Gold in the "Fast Delivery" category and Porr received an SAP Award Silver Winner in the "Cloud Transformation" category.

Every year at the prestigious SAP Quality Awards, the software company SAP honours companies that have done pioneering work in corporate digitization with SAP and have set new standards in terms of efficiency, implementation and effectiveness. The reason for the new development, in addition to the upcoming end of the transition period for SAP S/4 Hana, is the desire of many customers to automate more processes and integrate new technologies.

The Sappy4x4 product series delivers proven industry-specific SAP templates for automotive and manufacturing companies as well as add-ons with additional functions for S/4 for warehouse management, manufacturing management and quality control. The new product generation Sappy4x4 combines the advantages of SAP S/4 Hana while remaining customizable to the requirements of specific processes in automotive (SappyCar) or manufacturing companies (SappyManufacturing).

The Sappy add-ons for warehouse control and material flow management (SappyWMS), for production management and data acquisition (SappyMES) and for measuring, managing and evaluating quality (SappyQMS) have also been updated. The most important change that Aimtec has made to the Sappy products is the new architecture, or more precisely: the new core. It allows users to run Sappy4x4 on both SAP ERP 6.0 and S/4 Hana.

With the new core, users can also benefit from the advantages of Sappy4x4 products while reducing the risks associated with future process changes. Because their display/communication layer is completely separate from their core (the running transaction), Sappy4x4 products can now also be connected to new technologies such as AR and VR.

(Secure) Modern Workplace

Tech Data expands its Cloud Solution Factory offering to include Modern Workplace solutions with Microsoft Secure Score.
