Admittedly, when ex-SAP executive Franz F\u00e4rber presented the concept at Sapphire in Orlando, I was enthusiastic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea of no longer moving data but delivering the desired results yourself is fascinating. Only here, SAP has done the math without the host. <\/p>

\"Fullsize\"<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A server that is constantly busy intelligently satisfying external data queries is ultimately worthless for its original purpose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAP's Data Hub makes every server an assistant to a desirable process and no one could predict how much resources these data services would need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What appears to be ingenious on paper is turning into an unmanageable monster in reality. SAP will still have to go to great lengths to finally consolidate the data complexity of a future ERP system in the cloud and on-prem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can only hope that the established AnyDB scenarios will last until 2030 - but SAP still owes the community an answer.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
