T.Con is now entitled to use the "SAP Recognized Expertise in the mill products industry in Germany" certificate. The "SAP Recognized Expertise" award is presented by SAP in recognition of the industry or solution-specific expertise of its partners. There are currently over 15,000 SAP partners worldwide who specialize in different industries. Each industry has its own special features and characteristics. The mill industry, for example, includes companies from the film, paper, cardboard, non-woven, textile and metal industries as well as weaving mills. T.Con has developed outstanding expertise for this sector in Germany and has now received the corresponding award. In total, only four SAP partners worldwide have been certified as having "SAP Recognized Expertise" in this industry segment. The ERP solution package T.Con Smart for Mill, for example, was developed as a result of this expertise.

Syntax supports EagleBurgmann

IT service provider Syntax is supporting EagleBurgmann with cloud integration and the reorganization of the ERP landscape. Syntax has replaced the old Navision systems with SAP Business ByDesign at numerous locations of the international supplier of industrial sealing technology. Cloud integration implemented by Syntax ensures synchronization with the main SAP system at headquarters. Data is exchanged between the core SAP system at head office and the systems in the branches via a cloud. Thanks to cloud integration, the old data silos and backend systems continue to run in the background: The cloud directs the data traffic like a highway interchange and performs the necessary translation work; it connects the legacy systems with the higher-level SAP Cloud Platform. This allows users to access the underlying data pools via simple user interfaces.

Acceleration of personnel processes

Centric, specialist for SAP HCM, presents a program package for quality assurance and acceleration of personnel processes and shows its new developments for the automated control and evaluation of HCM data. A key advantage of Centric's tools is that they can be used immediately by importing transport requests and therefore do not incur any implementation costs. As users are familiar with the look and feel of their SAP HCM system, acceptance is high and only minimal training is required. With around 800 audit rules already included, the ICS tools directly cover the majority of auditor requirements.

NetApp expands data fabric strategy

NetApp presents new solutions and services that enable companies to tailor their cloud models to their specific requirements. The focus is on a consistent user experience in the hybrid multicloud. New features include NetApp Cloud Data Services for NetApp HCI, expansion options with persistent storage across the entire public cloud as well as management, usage and payment options for customers. Thanks to the NetApp data fabric strategy, companies have everything they need to build a customized data fabric - in any cloud. NetApp thus offers users a comprehensive experience in the hybrid multicloud with a consistent usage model in public clouds and on-premises.

Waste Management

Many companies find it difficult to migrate to S/4 Hana, as the EH&S (Environment, Health and Safety) Waste Management module for producers is no longer available to users after the switch. However, this gap can now be closed: Axians eWaste enables a smooth implementation of different modules of the waste management solution eNature into the SAP portfolio. Axians eWaste offers corresponding SAP interfaces for the cloud-based expert system for waste managers and service providers eNature so that waste management can also be continued transparently in S/4 Hana and cost-intensive in-house developments, shadow IT and data silos can be avoided. Axians eWaste relies on the latest SAP systems for interface communication during implementation.

WMD xSuite for SAP

The WMD Group has now released version 5.2.2. of its xSuite for SAP. Like its predecessor version, xSuite includes modules for processing incoming invoices and orders, purchase orders and order confirmations. Key new features include an invoice monitor in SAP Fiori and extensive enhancements to the module for order confirmations. WMD is strategically aligning the further development of its SAP-certified solution with S/4 Hana, the Hana database, SAP Fiori and the web. One functional focus of the new xSuite version is the extended workflow for processing order confirmations. User companies repeatedly emphasize the importance of a holistic view of business processes. WMD has therefore incorporated its experience with SAP-integrated incoming invoice processing into the development of digital procurement with SAP. WMD has also updated the web access to xSuite and the mobile version with a new version of OpenUI5. This ensures the compatibility of browsers and frameworks for future releases of xSuite for SAP and better adaptation of the display, especially for mobile devices.

Arbonia relies on S/4 Hana

The direction is clear: it is SAP S/4 Hana. By implementing a solution for which SAP partner Itelligence is responsible, Arbonia is laying the foundation for further SAP implementations. The collaboration between Arbonia and Itelligence began at the start of 2017. In the first stage, Itelligence carried out a feasibility study for Arbonia Corporate to check whether and how S/4 Hana could be used profitably at Arbonia. After the decision in favor of S/4 as the future-oriented platform and Itelligence as the preferred partner, the second stage began with the implementation of S/4 Hana in the corporate areas of the Arbonia parent company. The go-live took place on time and on budget.

Lookcast SAP-certified for C/4 Hana Commerce

Techedge is proud to announce the certification of its SAP C/4 Hana connector for Lookcast. Lookcast is a customer engagement platform that has reimagined the idea of the catalog. The certification proves that the Lookcast platform is a fully integrated solution for companies using C/4 Hana Commerce. The Lookcast application's unique connection to C/4 Hana enables users to quickly create catalogs for print and interactive shopping experiences, while ensuring data synchronization and fidelity across all channels. With Lookcast, brand manufacturers reduce the production costs of print materials and improve the e-commerce customer experience. Techedge's SAP Commerce Connector for Lookcast enables reconciliation between the two platforms, maintaining master data quality while avoiding duplication.

SAP in the public cloud

The public cloud is also becoming increasingly important for business-critical SAP applications. This is the result of a study conducted by the analyst firm Teknowlogy Group in collaboration with the IT service provider Syntax. Companies around the world are exploring the opportunities arising from the growing maturity of hyperscaler platforms such as AWS and Azure. The study analyzes the current situation, defines challenges and provides recommendations on how companies can best approach the topic. The drivers of the trend towards the public cloud are, on the one hand, potential savings in operating costs, not least through flexible pricing models that accommodate companies with fluctuating infrastructure requirements. On the other hand, companies expect the public cloud to bring more automation and agility to SAP operations. They appreciate the opportunity to set up globally standardized infrastructures more easily than before and to integrate and distribute data validly throughout the entire organization. According to analyses by the Teknowlogy Group, there is a good reason why companies are currently putting their SAP strategy to the test: the mandatory migration to S/4 Hana is an opportunity for many companies to think about alternative operating models and different areas of responsibility (see graphic).

Data protection is more than a chore

Legal requirements and internal processes are the economic drivers for tools such as SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) in the HCM environment. The demand for ILM has risen sharply in recent years due to internal and external factors. The end of the transition period of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) at the end of May 2018 has provided a particular boost. The penalties imposed for violations are drastic. Since then, companies across Europe have faced complex challenges when it comes to handling and processing personal data. A key component is the right to erasure and the right to be forgotten, which is particularly important in relation to the handling and destruction of master data. However, its application is not trivial, as different regulations must be observed. Close coordination between IT and the specialist departments is required here. Above all, different legal bases can always be problematic. Due to increasing legal regulations on data retention, data destruction and the obligation to provide evidence (e.g. for tax audits or product liability), conventional data management approaches are no longer sufficient. This is why Abresa supports its customers on their way to implementing ILM in their companies and handling the issue of data protection in a legally compliant manner. From the point of view of the experienced consultants, important questions need to be clarified before implementing the solution in order to ensure that the solution actually meets the respective requirements.

AI for automated price optimization

GK Software offers retailers a new AI-based solution for dynamic pricing, which is also marketed by SAP under the name SAP Dynamic Pricing by GK. SAP has thus recognized the agency's work as well as the expertise and many years of experience of its specialists with the SAP Commerce Cloud. The "SAP Recognized Expertise Partner" (SAP REx) certificate makes it easier for companies to find an SAP implementation partner by certifying that selected companies work with SAP products to a particularly high standard. The certificate is only awarded to partners who have proven both their technical knowledge and extensive project experience in a specific solution or industry. To achieve this, they need a proven track record in customer projects and a defined number of SAP-certified consultants. Before Arithnea, only twelve companies had successfully passed the transparent but strict certification process in the SAP Commerce area for Germany.

The future belongs to paperless travel management

The Fusion Exchange in Frankfurt is the largest event for SAP Concur, provider of cloud-based travel management software, in the German-speaking region. This year, Projekt0708 presented itself for the first time as a certified partner with its own stand and was also a reference customer in the "SME customer talk" panel discussion. The mobile, app-supported solutions from SAP Concur promise time savings, simplified billing and cost transparency in business travel management, which is why the event participants from the fields of human resources, IT and finance were so interested. Within just a few months, Projekt0708 converted the company's travel expense accounting to SAP Concur.
